Like Star Wars? Like Music? Then here’s an idea, take the best of the Star Wars soundtracks and have them performed, at pace, by a 80's metal band. Introducing Galactic Empire. As the first hard rock riff of the Main Theme kicks in, you know you are in for a good time. Here and there the nuance and mood of a full orchestra isn’t fully realized, but more often than not, it works. In The Forest Battle, you really get to appreciate actually how complex some of this playing is. The Force Theme kind of sounds like it should have always been played on the guitar, maybe by Skywalker as he moped around the desert. An unexpected treat is Duel of the Fates turned into a prog rock epic. Pure madness – but amazing! Another highlight is a devastating Imperial March theme. Pick of the bunch is a joyous ramped-up version of The Cantina Song. Galactic Empire apparently play gigs in full costume. Boba Fett on drums, Darth Vader on Lead Guitar. Their overall sound is reminiscent of The Darkness. Come to think of it, anyone ever seen Justin Hawkins and Darth Vader in the same room together? Imagine the reaction these guys would get strolling out at Glastonbury, or closing a Comic Con.
