Currently riding the Hype Train to Coolsville, The Van T's are one of the hottest musical prospects making crowds sweaty in and around Glasgow and beyond at the moment. A Coming Of Age is their latest EP, following last year's Laguna Babe EP and 2013's self-titled, three track teaser, and it is without a doubt another onsalught of fuzzy glory. Following in the footsteps of bands such as Honeyblood and Hinds, The Van T's are a quartet bursting with energy as the EP begins at a powerful pace with the exciting '35mm' which crusades into 'Blood Orange', a high octane anthem on which guitars and percussion blur into a musical whirlwind. 'No Man's Money' comparatively subdued and similar to the dirty pop vibes of Pony and Trap (who have apparently vanished from the internet), with 'Dandy' striking a similar tone in bringing the four track release to a less-than-clean finish. Whilst the energy and nostalgia in The Van T's music is enough to secure them a ticket for the Hype Train, only time will tell if they will be able to overcome fuzzed out monotony and arrive in Coolsville to a hero's welcome.
