Justice is the Gallic dance duo who are a discordant proposition. Fluttering provocatively with the mainstream -yet slightly jagged from dingy self containment- they are still very much evolving. A certainty is their distinct ability to manufacture grandeur dance epochs. With likenesses to Simian Mobile Disco and a more commercial Daft Punk, they are a hybrid dance act with Gallic gargantuan testicles the size of disco balls.
Camp glitter-ball dance epics like ‘DVNO’ and ‘Dance’ have propelled Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge to club’s pinnacle dance spotlight. They are believers in their fellow countryman Jean Michel Jarre as their idealistic role model of pioneering electronic music. From which the pair found inspiration to produce their own palatable ensemble (or not as they would preach to their underground faithful.
Justice integrates humour within their heavy-grade juggernaut grooves, quizzical bleeps and ragged bass-lines. Further recordings such as ‘Let There Be Light’, ‘Genesis’ with its grandiose opening bars and their Simian remix of ‘We Are Your Friends’ give them a host of flagship songs, most are familiar with. Their latest album seems to have shoved new wave form the dance floor and left them reeling.
Funked up addictive glossy feel good music with aesthetics to be heralded , Justice have landed their monsterous religiously tinged dance epochs upon the mainstream. Divulging little but remixing everything, work shy they are not. With their aural and aesthetically sound animation trademark videos, they are determined to make a mark.
