What better to complement the start of summer better than an indie-folk number about mania and depression, complete with a Gothic, surreal video? That's right, nothing.

The latest track from Dan Shears & The Velveteen Orkestra is just that. A Gogol Bordello-esque gypsy folk bounce forms the back drop for Shears sinister tale, invoking the sort of menacing sense of fun-beyond-your-control that has countless adults forever in fear of clowns.

On the one hand, the song makes the most of it's folky charm, on the other its edged with a post-punk venom - all wrapped up in an unnerving sense of surreality.
