Not to get you all worked up or anything, but this is proper good.

Having made a name as a quarter of The Expansions and drumming with The Gene Dudley Group, Jonny Drop's first solo outing sees him flexing his beat maker muscles for the genuinely wonderfully duo of tracks 'Mind Field' and 'This Is The One'.

The former blossoms from a rolling bass-and-beats combo, adorned with jazzy flourishes and vocal snippets, into something deeply soulful, slower but equally compelling.

The latter takes a slightly gentler approach, snatched snippets of strings soaring behind a shuffling beat and a smattering of vocal samples.

All in all, jazzy-dubby-soully goodness you'd be a downright mug not to listen to right now.

The release is the first from the newly formed label Albert's Favourites, launched by Drop and Wah Wah 45s' Adam Scrimshire. There's apparently a full album coming from Jonny this side of Christmas, which should be quite the festive treat judging by this. In the meantime get stuck in below.
