The diligent among you will notice we shared this yesterday. And it appears to have been so good it broke the site. So if that's not an endorsement I don't know what is.

A blast of hypnotic space jazz, even better at second attempt.

Having launched themselves last year with a Dele Sosimi remix, the Modified Man duo debut on the Albert's Favourites label with an intense reworking of Billy Cobham's 'Stratus'.

Preserving the original's rolling bassline, Modified Man catapult the track into the future via the past, reworking the track's composite parts with the pair's extensive synth collection.

The stripped back beat gives the bassline a trip hop tinge, while the electric wanderings of the melody deliver a digital punch. Maintaining the futuristic experimental essence of the original in the synths, the ceaseless rhythm builds to kaleidoscopic, mesmeric immensity.

Coming hot on the heels of Jonny Drop's 'Sub Plot', 'Stratus' sees new South London label Albert's Favourites continue to pay artful homage their vast array of influences.

Check the track out below, where you download it for free (or for some money, if you're feeling generous).
