The Back Page: a Q+A with Ketil Kinden Endresen of Casiokids
Being on the internet, Shout4Music doesn't have a back page. But if it did, it might look a bit like this.
We've asked a bucket full of bands and an array of artists to answer our questions on life, the universe and everything.
This time round it's Ketil Kinden Endresen of Casiokids' turn to answer the questions. He tells us about his interesting taste in bar snacks and police twitter accounts. Oh, and he seems to know exactly what tools you need if ever you get stuck in a lift.
Find out more about the bands' single 'Det Haster' with Coral Williamson's review.
What are you listening to right now?
I'm in the tour van, and our tour manager Lex has a track on the car stereo by an artist called Machine Drum (who is a friend of Lex's from Berlin apparently).
How did you get into music?
My parents took me to piano lessons from the age of 7, and then later clarinet lessons. We always had music playing around the house, and I suddenly discovered I had ideas for my own melodies.
Tell us a joke.
How long does a man's legs need to be?
Long enough to reach the ground.
Who do you follow religiously on Twitter?
@stephenfry, @theonion, @tanlines, @theAVClub, @TheBrowser, @rihanna, @lofifnkofficial and the Oslo police dept. @oslopolitiops.
What have you been reading lately?
I've been listening to the audiobook of Stephen Fry's autobiography 'Chronicles'.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
My lady.
Which song do you wish you had written?
'S.O.S' by ABBA.
Does God exist?
Well, he's on Twitter apparently.
We're at the bar. What are you drinking?
I'll have a glass of milk and some dried eel snacks, please.
Who would you dread getting stuck in a lift with?
Someone that had no idea how to get out. In fact, I was stuck in a lift once, with Kjetil Aabø from Casiokids. He managed to get us out with the help of 'The Daily Mail' and an empty Cola Zero bottle.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a writer.
What song will you have played at your funeral?
'It's All About The Money' by Meja.
What gigs, songs or albums are you promoting at the moment?
Well, our new album 'Aabenbaringen Over Aaskammen" comes out on Moshi Moshi records in the UK 16 January 2012.
