The Playground and Xbox Reverb are offering 5 lucky people the chance to win a pair of tickets to an exclusive gig featuring performances from The Maccabees and La Shark alongside DJ sets from Nick Grimshaw and Jameela Jamil at The Village Underground in London on the 29th April plus an XBOX console each.

Since launching Xbox Reverb in September last year with a gig featuring an exclusive set from Calvin Harris and the latest gig in Cardiff featuring Brit Award winner Ellie Goulding, the online community has been enabling fans to co-curate a number of tailor made gigs with the best in British live acts.

In order to be in the running for the coveted prize all you have to do is:

1) Join The Playground Facebook Group here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21797091220&ref=ts

Then comment on the group wall with ‘The Maccabees’

2)  Click on the The Playground & XBOX advert on the main page of www.theplayground.co.uk then enter your email addresses

It is that simple. All entries for the competition must be sent to The Playground by 11:59pm on Monday 26th April 2010. macThe first wave of Shockwaves NME Awards Shows for next year has been announced.

The annual month of gigs, which takes place every February in the run up to the awards ceremony itself – to be held this year on February 24 at the O2 Academy Brixton – will yet again take over London, and NME.COM can reveal the first names confirmed to play.

This year’s shows will include the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Hadouken! and Yeasayer, with more dates, acts and support acts set to be announced soon.

The first shows to be announced are:

Miike Snow London Scala (February 2)
Hadouken! London Scala (3)
Simian Mobile Disco matter (20)
New Young Pony Club Islington Academy (22)
Yeasayer London Heaven (23)
Girls London Scala (23)

Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning (November 27) from 9am (GMT), exclusively through NME.COM.
