3If Underoath are under any kind of oath, it must be to impress! Not only has their latest single got a brilliant title, ‘Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear’ but it also has a brilliant mix of emotions and sounds as well! We get sadness, outright anger and sweet melancholy, as in the impassioned pleas of singer Spenser Chamberlain asking “good god, can you still get us home?” towards the end. The quiet introduction doesn’t prepare you for the slow build up of noise that turns into the almost brutal thrash metal crescendo that comes at the end to wake you up from the bed of angst the song mires you in. Talk about going out with a bang! This song comes highly recommended for the reason that it’s melodic, as well as loud), and for the always unusual combination of Christianity and metal! (Every member of Underoath is a devout Christian). This is a must listen for any metal fan and you’d be crazy if you didn’t watch the video, which is as brilliant as the song itself!
