If gospel harmonies, David Byrne inspired music, Native American sqwarks and ritualistic sounds are your preference when it comes to music, Yeasayer are your quintessential performance benevolent band. A fuse of meticulously and moody sounds that are suavely crooned the gospel way. Drenched in experimentalism in the way the Animal Collectives approach their music, they join a long list manipulated by the powers of Talking Heads and Brian Eno’s music.

It would be easy to say that due to the gospel harmonies that they are similar to Arcade Fire but they are not. Their sound has been nurtured with synthesizers and electronic textures yet religious rites are still the embodiment of their sound. The reverberating echoing of the chanting is evident as opposed to AF’s church-stable ethics.

The debut LP is entitled ‘All Hour Cymbals’ which has been released through We Are Free Records. Yeasayer are planning their tours around extensive festival appearances this year after the success of their debut LP. They are but one of a flow of amazing new bands to be chucked out of Brooklyn’s music escalator.

With epic songs like ’2080′ with its spiraling guitar hooks and head-trip melodies, their music inspires. Although the initial side effects from their sound can be negative, once over that, embracing and enjoyment follows from their spiritualism….
