Ever thought about what it would feel like to go back in time, to turn back the clocks and relive your heydays? Well now is your chance. It’s not every day that you get the chance to relive your teenage years but this autumn the one and only Wheatus will be commencing their UK tour! That’s right, Wheatus, architects of the multi-platinum, ubiquitous 2001 classic, Teenage Dirtbag.

The American rock group from Northport, New York, formed in 1995, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2000. Fifteen years on and seven LPs later, the band admittedly still love playing their beloved third track.

Wheatus frontman, producer, songwriter Brendan Brown has claimed that one of his fears when Dirtbag kicked off was that it would get old quick or be received as a fad. “I still can't believe it started 15 years ago... that's hard to imagine for a song that continues to be renewed. We owe a debt to that [our debut] album and to the people who remember us.”

It’s always nice to see your favourite blasts from the past come back into the limelight and this autumn Wheatus will be playing a full tour of the UK, Ireland & EU playing their entire first album! (Plus songs from their 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th, 6th & 7th).

It has not been an easy ride for the noughties phenomenon, scraping touring budgets together by selling their recording gear on eBay. "It's an interesting paradox that people won't buy music but they still buy the stuff to make it and that we can carry on that way...together, we found a way forward,” said Brown.

Despite the hardships of the current music business it is great to see that a band from before the days of iTunes & Spotify has managed to find a way to adapt to the streaming trend and continue to make great pop music.
