Tesla has launched a new product called TeslaMic, a microphone for its in-car karaoke system. For this year’s Chinese New Year software update in China, Tesla included the TeslaMic along with the Leishi KTV system.
The Leishi KTV and the TeslaMic are an expansion of Tesla’s in-car “Caraoke” feature, first launched in the 2019 V10 software update. The “Caraoke” infotainment system introduced the ability to play a limited list of songs, with lyrics appearing on the center display of the car. The new 2022.2.1 software update is a more complete karaoke system. The TeslaMic, which comes in a set of two, automatically pairs with the infotainment system and offers sound modes to aid singers.
From a video demonstration posted by the company on Weibo, the TeslaMic can also be used outside of Tesla vehicles. The karaoke system currently does not support any other third-party microphones. The TeslaMic is currently only available in China and costs around $188. It is currently unknown if the TeslaMic will be made available in the U.S. Check out the TeslaMic demonstration video below.
