The DJI Mic 2 Is Now Available In Stores
From the creators of the well-known and renowned camera drones comes the DJI Mic 2, a pocket-sized pro audio device for vlogs, interviews, live streams, and more. The ready-to-use DJI Mic 2 claims to be able to capture authentic sounds and produce high-quality audio recordings all while boasting intelligent noise-cancelling features.
As DJI is popular for its drones, the Mic 2 device is aimed to be a simple audio solution for those who are keen on filming drone shots. How can a small wireless microphone be able to withstand all that wind noise then? Well, DJI claims that the Mic 2 has a new intelligent noise-canceling feature that can effectively reduce environmental noise, even in bustling urban areas. A windscreen can also be added to the Mic 2 to effectively reduce wind noise in windy or fast-moving scenarios.
The DJI Mic 2 has an omnidirectional polar pattern and is said to be optimized for vocals. This means the DJI Mic 2 can also be used for multi-person applications such as vlogs, interviews, or other content creation scenarios. Not to mention the transmitters can be used as standalone voice recorders making it ultra-versatile in applications.
Speaking of transmitters, each one carries 8 GB of internal storage. This means the DJI Mic 2 can give individuals a 14-hour internal recording of uncompressed 48kHz 24-bit audio and support for 32-bit float internal recording. Each transmitter and receiver has a 6-hour operating time, which can extend up to 18 hours with the charging case.
You can also expect to go long and far with the DJI Mic 2 as it has an extensive and impressive range of up to 250m (820 ft.). However, do make sure that you are shooting in an unobstructed environment without any interference so you can produce clear audio results.
The DJI Mic 2 is all about versatility. Without the receiver, the transmitter can be connected via Bluetooth to an Osmo Pocket 3 or Osmo Actio 4. You can also connect it to a smartphone, and it even works with third-party video calling software.
