The Wizpr Ring Smart Microphone is an AI-powered smart “ring” that has a secret mic an individual can directly ask questions and prompt conversational AI services. In the history of microphone usage, never has a mic been able to do such a feat, which makes the Wizpr Ring a first of its kind. Hence, we ask the question, is the Wizpr Ring Smart Microphone the future of mics?
The AI firm, VTouch, created the Wizpr Ring as a smart ring microphone that offers advanced AI capabilities beyond fitness and health tracking. What makes it such a unique and revolutionary smart microphone is its capability to hear and comprehend even the slightest whisper that is intended for it to hear. It has advanced tech and a proximity-sensing mic that can cut out background noise and prompt it to listen when the ring (or microphone) is brought near the user’s mouth.
“With Wizpr Ring, we aim to realize a conversational computing environment where you can interact with AI by talking to it with your voice anytime, anywhere, without having to look at a screen,”, explains SJ Kim, Founder & Co-CEO of VTouch in a press release.
Similar to how other bigger smart microphones function, the Wizpr Ring can be paired with a smartphone app and smart home consoles. The Wizpr Ring is also compatible with AI programs such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and others so a user can have access to a wide range of information and services. Although some may be opposed to the idea of having a smart ring microphone so close to you all the time, and even the notion of AI in society, the launch of Wizpr Ring seems like a step towards an inevitable future.
“AI-based conversational computing is expected to be the next big thing that goes beyond the limitation of ‘graphical user interfaces’ such as PCs and smartphones,” says Kim.
In any case, the fact that the Wizpr Ring already won an award at the CES 2024 Innovation Awards should already be an indication of the demand and future possibilities of this smart microphone.
However, if you’re eager to get your hands on the Wizpr Ring, you may have to wait a little while longer. This smart microphone has yet to make its public debut in stores and is only currently running a pre-order purchase system on Kickstarter. You can expect the Wizpr Ring to go on sale in the US soon for $199.
