Infineon Expands Its Automotive Microphone Portfolio with the XENSIV MEMS Microphone IM68A130A

Share

The XENSIV MEMS Microphone IM68A130A of Infineon is AEC-qualified and can be used for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) systems with an analog interface. The IM68A130A also has a flat frequency response to frequencies below 10Hz giving it a stable phase response while achieving a low-frequency roll-off of LFRO = 1-Hz.

Infineon Expands Its Automotive Microphone Portfolio with the XENSIV MEMS Microphone IM68A130A

Infineon combined their automotive experience and the build of their first automotive-qualified digital MEMS microphone, the IM67D130A, in designing and creating the IM68A130A. This helped Infineon achieve a high-end MEMS microphone that is AEC-qualified but is also suitable for general-purpose uses in any microphone audio system.

The IM68A130A has a signal-to-noise ratio of 68dB and an acoustic overload point of 130 dB SPL. This allows the IM68A130A to be used for beamforming and active noise cancellation even when it’s placed in the cabin or exterior locations. It also has an extended operating temperature of up to +105°C, which allows for flexible applications in varying environments and climates inside or outside the vehicle.

Aside from attaining an AEC-Q103-003 qualification, the IM68A130A is also built to last the typical lifecycle of a vehicle. This enables manufacturers and users to save with regard to design-in effort and platform solutions development.
